Tackle bargains: New and used fishing tackle will be on sale at bargain prices Saturday, March 1 at Mt. Juliet's Charlie Daniels Park, starting at 9 a.m.

Lebanon guide Jim Duckworth and Mt. Juliet antique tackle expert Gibby Gibson will be among the exhibitors.

Trap shoot: K.J. Davis of the Cedar City Gun Club won three trophies at the Grand Dixie shoot in Odessa, Florida last week, then took top honors in the weekly shoot at his home club with a round of 47.

Ben Schade was second with a 43. Randall Pence won Veteran honors (36), Alex Jones was top Junior (25) and Timothy Whitlock won Sub-Junior (37).

Seasons wind down: Rabbit, squirrel and quail seasons draw to a close Feb. 28.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will soon begin the planning of this fall's hunting seasons and regulations, to be approved by the Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission.

Licenses expire: Hunters and fishermen are reminded that their 2013 licenses expire Feb. 28. Renewals are available on-line (tnwildlife.org) or at most outdoors outlets.

There are no changes in the costs of license and permits.

Wild game supper: A wild game supper will be held Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Maple Hill Church of Christ.

Lebanon's Mike Graves will exhibit the mounted elk he killed during last fall's hunt, and give a presentation on the hunt. Noted outdoor personality Chris Nischan and famous taxidermist Foster Butts also are scheduled to attend.

There is no admission charge; attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite wild game dish.
