Cumberland University Maryah Cohen signs to play softball for Cumberland.

 

 

Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill announced the signing of Highland, Calif., native Maryah Cohen to scholarship papers this week for the 2014-15 academic year.

Cohen is the sixth signee for next season for the Bulldogs, a team that has eight seniors this season.

Cohen is a four-year letter-winner for coach Debbie Garcia at Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, Calif. She batted .428 last season with a .615 batting average for REVHS and led her high school and travel teams (Sudden Impact) in batting average and on-base percentage. She also served as team captain during her sophomore and juniors years.

She is the daughter of Ken and Elizabeth Cohen and her father played football at Florida State.

Cohen joins Alisa Walker, Vienna Benavides, Brittany Rasmussen, Kristen Abell and Brianna Gregory in this year’s recruiting class.
