Friendship Christian scored four times in the bottom of the fourth inning to overtake visiting Macon County 7-4 and salvage a split of Thursday’s middle-school baseball doubleheader.
Macon County won the opener 6-4 with a late-game rally.
Friendship jumped to a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap. Macon County matched the three-spot in the third for a 4-3 edge.
The Commanders outhit the Tigers 4-3 but had to overcome six errors in the five-inning game.
Justin Seagraves struck out 10 for the Commanders.
Friendship fired out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of the opener and was up 4-0 through three.
But Macon County climbed back with five runs in the top of the sixth.
Hanley Sobieszczyk and Ben Jamison each had two of Friendship’s seven hits. Addison Fakes fanned four in five innings on the mound.
Macon County out-hit Friendship 9-7.
Friendship will play host to Station Camp in a double header at 5 p.m. today.
