It’s not in a sectional, but Wilson Central and Brentwood will meet in a rubber match of their postseason series when the Boys State Basketball Championships get underway Wednesday in Murfreesboro.

The Wildcats and Bruins will hook up at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Middle Tennessee State’s Murphy Center.

The teams met in the two previous seasons in the sectional, both at Brentwood, with the Wildcats winning two years ago and the Bruins in 2013.

Central will enter this matchup at 26-6 while Brentwood is 31-2. The winner will advance to a 10 a.m. Friday semifinal against the winner of Hamilton [27-6] vs. Blackman [25-6], who will open the tournament at 10 Wednesday morning.

In the other bracket, Siegel [31-1] will face Arlington [28-4] at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. Both teams have beaten Central this season. Oak Ridge [30-7] will take on Jefferson County [30-5] at 2:45 with the winners meeting at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The championship game is set for 2 p.m. Saturday.
