GLADEVILLE — A four-run first inning ignited Wilson Central to a 10-2 triumph over visiting Stewarts Creek in high school baseball Friday night.

The Wildcats used a leadoff walk to Malone Smith, a single by Cullen Smith and consecutive doubles by Kyle Hubbuch, Tony Pfefferle and Jake Lefler to take the early lead.

Central added two more in the second for a 6-0 start. Malone Smith led off with a triple and scored on another double by Hubbuch, who allowed four hits in six innings for his first win of the season in four decisions.

Middle infielders Colten Morris and Smith turned a pair of 4-6-3 double plays to help the Wildcats climb to 7-10 for the season.

Stewarts Creek, a first-year school in Smyrna, is coached by former Lebanon coach Mike Bartlett.

Central will play a two-game District 9-AAA South Division series against Station Camp at 7 p.m. Tuesday [at WCHS] and Wednesday [at SCHS].
