GALLATIN — Zack Baker’s 8-2 win over Heath Vincent enabled Wilson Central’s boys to snap a two-match losing streak and edge host Station Camp 5-4 in District 9-AAA tennis Friday.
The Lady Wildcats, with each player playing up a position with No. 1 Kansas Glasgow out with an Achilles’ tendon strain, lost 7-2.
Other Wildcat singles winners were Chase McElfresh over Tom Zaffore 8-4 and Reece Geddes over Chris Naton 8-1.
Doubles winners were McElfresh and Paden Robertson over Vincent and Aaron Mitchell 8-4 and Gaddes and Houston Wood over Zaffore and Naton 8-4 as Central improved to 3-6 for the season and 2-3 in the district.
Station Camp winners were Floria Matei over Nathaniel Dennison 8-0, Canaan Howell over Max Rahmanni 8-4, Mitchell over Robertson 8-6 and Matei and Howell over Dennison and Baker 8-5.
Central’s Wood and Sean Moran won an exhibition doubles match 8-4. Peyton Muncy lost 8-3 and Brandon Leach fell 8-4 in exhibition singles.
Lady Bison singles winners were Abby Brown over Micheala Micco 8-4, Camile Baker over Jackie Anderson 8-2, Michelle Davis over Rebecca Glenn 8-2, Kiana Mills over Hallie Wolfe 8-4 and Mikala Lee over Jennifer Beckham 8-6.
Doubles winners were Mills and Baker over Micco and Anderson 8-4 and Emma Brown and Edyssa Myers over Beckham and Wolfe 9-7.
Lady Wildcat winners were Lani Lee over Deborah Parry 8-2 and Lee and Glenn over Brown and Davis 8-5 as Central slipped to 3-5, 1-3.
Station Camp’s Nidhi Menon and Hannah Petty doubled up Lucia Hurtado and Fatima Rivzi 8-4 in an exhibition doubles match.
Central will travel to Lebanon’s Boyd-Rushing Courts on Monday for a 3:30 p.m. match against the Blue Devils.
