WHITE HOUSE — White House scored a lot early in a 6-1 win over Lebanon in the battle of Blue Devils on Saturday.

The home team scored twice in the first inning and got the other four in the second to pin the loss on starter Connor Harris. Reliever Zane Potter allowed only two hits in 4 2/3 shutout relief innings, but the damage was done as Lebanon returned home 8-9 for the season.

Lebanon finished with six hits in the first six innings off White House starter Luke Hopkins, who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Nick  Sanders drove in Peyton McCullough with Lebanon’s lone run on the sixth inning.

Bryce Lester had two of Lebanon’s six singles.

White House is coached by former Cumberland third baseman Mark Mills. Lebanon’s first-year coach Tony Long coached WHHS to the Class AA state championship in 2000.

Lebanon is scheduled to play host to Mt. Juliet at 7 p.m. tonight at Brent Foster Field in the first of a two-game District 9-AAA South series. The teams will wrap up the home-and-home 24 hours later at MJHS.
