Pitman leads MJCA middle past Harding
NASHVILLE — Mt. Juliet Christian rode the pitching of Alex Pitman to beat host Harding Academy 11-4 in middle-school baseball Saturday.
Pitman struck out 10 in a complete-game outing and also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Preston Sloan also supplied a pair of hits, including a three-run homer in the third inning, as Mt. Juliet Christian climbed to 7-2 for the season and 4-2 in conference play.
“We got off to somewhat of a slow start,” Mt. Juliet Christian coach Mike Kittrell said. “We made some mistakes in the first inning and then we were able to clean it up after that and pull out a great win.
“We continuously talk about letting some things go and we are getting better at doing that.”
