Wildcats rally to return favor to Station Camp

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central scored four runs in the sixth inning to rally past visiting Station Camp 4-2 Thursday night.

After seven Wildcats were stranded over the first five innings, junior Colten Morris came through with the big hit, a bases-=loaded triple off the wall in left-center field.

Tony Pfefferle and Jake Lefler reached on errors and Ben Spradley dropped a bunt single down the third-base line to fill the bases for Morris.

Kyle Hubbuch allowed both Bison runs in the second inning, but finished his six-inning stint with five hits allowed to improve to 2-3. Pfefferle pitched the seventh for the save as the Wildcats climbed to 8-11 for the season, 3-3 in District 9-AAA.

The Wildcats were coming off a 4-3 walk-off loss in nine innings at Station Camp on Wednesday night in which they stranded 16 runners.

Kyle Schmitt took the loss to fall to 3-2.

Cullen Smith drove in two Central runs on a pair of hits, including a double. Dalton McCorkle doubled among his three hits as the Wildcats outhit the Bison 12-9.

Central will visit Ravenwood tonight at 6:30 p.m.
