MT. JULIET — A King’s Academy header hit the net just ahead of the final whistle Monday as Mt. Juliet Christian suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 East-Middle District 1-A soccer loss Monday.

The Saints had tied the score with nine minutes left on a goal by junior Landon Boyd off an assist from lone senior Collin Keith.

But King’s got a header off the back post to drop Mt. Juliet Christian to 2-4-1 for the season and 0-3-1 in the district.

King’s led 1-0 at halftime.

Ben Ormsby finished with 14 saves for the Saints.

Mt. Juliet Christian will remain in the district today for a 5 p.m. match at Ezell-Harding.
