GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central knocked off District 9-AAA softball power Beech 5-1 Wednesday behind the pitching of Hannah Bodenhorn.

Bordenhorn held the Lady Buccaneers to four hits while striking out 11 as the Lady Wildcats climbed to 17-14 for the season and 5-1 in the district.

Katie Eakes’ bases-loaded double on a 3-0 count broke open a 1-0 lead n a four-run fifth inning.

Eakes had two of Central’s seven hits. Brittany Wiseman, Kendall Eden and Claire Smith also had hits while Kayla Varner, Morgan Powell and Brooke Pfefferle each reached base twice.

Watertown rolls past Red Boiling Springs

WATERTOWN — Watertown spotted Red Boiling Springs a quick lead before pouncing on the Lady Bulldogs for a 7-4 District 8-A softball win Wednesday at Three Forks Park.

Red Boiling Springs led 3-0 before Watertown came to bat. But once the Tigerettes came to town, they put two on the board in the first inning and five in the second to lift Tiffany Tomlinson to victory.

Tomlinson scattered nine hits and a walk while striking out 11 as Watertown improved to 2-3 in district play.

Mallory Josey drove in two runs on a triple and a double for Watertown. Kaleigha Carter also collected a pair of hits as she and Victoria Foster doubled as part of the Tigerettes’ seven-hit attack against Hannah Smith.

Watertown will play host to district rival Gordonsville at 5 p.m. today at Three Forks.

Lady Bears batter Station Camp 7-3

GALLATIN — Savannah Sanders scattered three hits in Mt. Juliet’s 7-3 District 9-AAA win at Station Camp on Wednesday.

Sanders walked two and struck out 10 as Mt. Juliet moved to 20-6 for the season and 6-1 in league play.

The Lady Bears broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fifth inning as Kelsie Craighead doubled and scored on Emily Bombard’s single. Riley Walker’s double scored Bombard before Savanna Oliver’s single sent Walker across the plate.

Ashton Stowe singled, stole second and scored on Craighead’s double in the sixth.

Mt. Juliet jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Walker whacked a two-run double and scored two batters later on an error.

Station Camp tied the score in the third on back-to-back walks and a three-run homer by Melissa Short.

Mt. Juliet will travel to Lebanon today for a 4:30 p.m. district game. The Lady Bears will then travel to Louisville, Ky., for the Ballard Super Prep Event. They will face Mathews [Vienna, Ohio] and Glen Este [Cincinnati] Friday afternoon and Westerville [Ohio] Saturday morning.
