Catch of over 21 lbs. wins bass tournament

Bass fishermen Trey Burtchaell and Nathan Duncan reeled in the top prize of $1,000 with a catch of 21.78 pounds at the John Barker’s Two Rivers Ford Bass Tournament on Saturday, April 12 at Flippers Landing on Old Hickory Lake.

With a field of 60 fishermen and 31 boats, the Two Rivers Ford Bass Tournament is sponsored by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce’s Sports Council. Paul Jewell, chairman of the Wilson County Sports Council, headed up the 5th Annual Bass Tournament.

Second place prize money totaling $500 went to James C. Humphrey and Josh Birdsong with a catch of 14.01 lbs. Third place and $300 was awarded to Jason Dies and Preston Luper with 13.06 lbs. each. Luper also took home the Big Fish cash pot of $200 with a bass weighing in at 7.57 lbs. Fourth place and $150 was presented to Anthony Guffie and David Breeden with 12.72 lbs of fish, fifth place and $60 for a 12.04 lb. catch was awarded to Eddie Stover and Scotty Webster.

Additional prizes were awarded through 21st place.

Funds raised from the Two Rivers Ford Bass Tournament go toward Wilson County Sports Council scholarships presented annually to one male and one female high school senior in Wilson County.
