Saints suffer Senior Day shutout

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian lost to St. Andrew’s-Sewanee 4-0 Tuesday, spoiling the Saints’ Senior Day.

The Mountain Lions led 3-0 at halftime as the Saints slipped to 2-4-1 for the season and 0-4-1 in the East-Middle District 1-A.

“One of the better teams we’ve played,” Mt. Juliet Christian first-year coach Justin Berry said. “We’re not winning these games, but we’re playing well.”

Ben Ormsby finished with 14 saves for the Saints, who took nine shots on the other goal.

Mt. Juliet Christian will travel to Davidson Academy at 5 p.m. Thursday.
