Perfect score: Dale Anthony, 12, posted a perfect score, hitting 50 targets with 50 shots, to win the weekly trap shoot at the Cedar City Gun Club.

TWRA denies deer-limit rumor: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is trying to put to rest a rumor making the internet rounds about a proposed reduction in the state's buck limit.
Some internet sites have reported that the TWRA plans to reduce the season limit on antlered deer from three to two this season. A TWRA spokesman says that is not true.
Although this year's hunting seasons and regulations have not been finalized, no major changes from last year are anticipated.
TWRA seeks fishing comments: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is seeking comments, concerns and recommendations for its 2014 fishing regulations.

Interscholastic shooting team: Ben Schade is organizing an interscholastic trap-shooting team for Wilson County youngsters. The team, which will be known as the Cedar City Straights, is open to youngsters age nine through high school, and will compete in state, regional and even national competitions.

Boating reminder: National Safe Boating Week is coming up, and with boat congestion expected to be at an all-time high on area lakes, the TWRA has issued a number of safety reminders.
A point of focus will be on impaired boat operators. Boating under the influence of alcohol carries penalties similar to driving under the influence.
Also, one an approved floatation device per passenger must be aboard every boat, and easily accessible -- not stored in a compartment.
