Thompson wins on Percy Priest

20-mph wind gusts accompanied sunny skies and water temperatures between 60-64 degrees

Lebanon’s Nick Thompson won the Cedar City Bass Anglers’ second tournament of the year last Saturday on Percy Priest Lake out of Fate Sanders Marina.

In addition to CCBA, several other bass tournaments were also being held which made getting to fishing spots tough. The weather often didn’t cooperate, either, as 20-mph wind gusts accompanied sunny skies and water temperatures between 60-64 degrees.

Thompson overcame those obstacles to reel in 12.24 pounds using the Umbrella Rig in mid-lake to earn $640.

Tony Mick of Cookeville was second with 11.01 pounds caught down-lake on Crankbaits to win $400.

Brad Lasater of Lebanon finished third with 10.85 pounds caught at mid-lake on a square bill crankbait to pocket $200.

Waymon Lefevers of Smithville finished fourth with 10.82 pounds caught on the lower end using an Umbrella Rig to pick up $120.

Jamie Johnson of Lebanon rounded out the top five with a total weight of 10.52 pounds to earn $70 worth of gift certificates.

Ron Poland of Murfreesboro caught the big fish weighing 5.2 pounds on the lower  end using jigs to earn $300.

CCBA’s next event will be Saturday on Kentucky Lake out of New Johnsonville. For more information, visit cedarcitybass.com.
