WAVERLY — Longtime Cedar City Bass Angler Adam Sharp reeled in a personal-record 18.1 pounds to win the CCBA tournament on Kentucky Lake off New Johnsonville on Saturday.
His previous best was 18.08 pounds reeled in at night on Percy Priest Lake in 2005. Bryan Montgomery holds the club record.
Sharp persevered the 5:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. tournament by catching his fish on plastics in the bushes to earn $600.
Bill Merrick of Gladeville captured second place with 17.86 pounds caught on a jig in the bushes to earn $400.
Nolan McCue of Lebanon was third with 14.55 pounds caught on a jig in the bushes to earn $200.
Corey Steakley of Lebanon was fourth with 13.33 pounds caught on plastics in the grass to earn $100.
Brad Lasater of Lebanon took his second straight top-five finish with 12.28 pounds caught flipping bushes to pick up a $70 gift pack.
Tony Mick of Cookeville had the big fish weighing 4.61 pounds to pocket $300.
