GALLATIN — Cameron Woodfin’s assist and goal in the final 16 minutes broke a scoreless tie and lifted Mt. Juliet to a second straight District 9-AAA soccer championship via a 2-0 win over Station Camp at Gallatin High.

Woodfin broke through the left side of the defense and passed to David Siever cutting through the 18-yard box for the game’s first score.

Woodfin did the honors himself with four minutes left when he cut right, split two defenders and curled a shot inside the right post to all but finish off the Bison, ranked No. 3 in the state and undefeated against district competition to this point.

Otherwise, defenses ruled the roost as Mt. Juliet’s Chris Prybilla, Zack Hinkle, Landon Bauder, Colbe Earls and Zack McGhee kept the Bison at bay. Tanner Carter led Station Camp’s D.

Following Siever’s score, Station Camp tried to put Mt. Juliet goalie Dylan Cole under siege until Woodfin’s goal provided a breather.
