George Page • The Lebanon Democrat Wilson Central’s Morgan Powell [10] knocks the ball loose from Northeast’s catcher to score on Katie Eakes’ first-inning triple for a 1-0 lead.

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central scored early, then often, in dispatching visiting Northeast from the Region 5-AAA softball tournament 8-2 Monday.

Katie Eakes tripled home Morgan Powell in the first inning and Claire Smith tripled in Central’s second score in the second.

Four Lady Wildcats crossed the plate in the third – two scoring on Brooke Pfefferle’s triple – and Hannah Bodenhorn had more than enough cushion to send Central to its 31st win of the season against 15 losses.

Bodenhorn scattered six hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Pfefferle’s two-run double in the fifth capped the Lady Wildcats’ scoring.

Central notched nine hits, including two singles by Brittany Wiseman and one each by Powell, Eakes and Kelsey Tomlin.

Central is scheduled to play host Clarksville, a 6-0 winner over Beech in the other 5-A semifinal, in Wednesday’s 6 p.m. region final, whose victor will play at home Friday in a sectional while the loser goes on the road.
