Bears blank West Creek 2-0

The balanced Bears got goals from four different players as they improved to 16-4 for the season, advancing to the region final and sectional for the second straight season.

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet played on one end of the field much of Tuesday night in a 4-0 win over West Creek in the Region 5-AAA soccer tournament.

The balanced Bears got goals from four different players as they improved to 16-4 for the season, advancing to the region final and sectional for the second straight season.

They will seek to repeat as region champions Thursday either at Rossview or at home against Station Camp. The Hawks and Bison were tied 1-1 late in their match in Clarksville. The winner will play at home Saturday in a sectional while the loser goes on the road.

Mt. Juliet led 2-0 at halftime as Austin Coleman put the Golden Bears on the board with a Landon Bauder assist.

Coleman assisted on Cameron Woodfin’s goal for the second score.

Tanner DaBell scored off a David Siever assist in the second half and passed to freshman Chase Earles for the final goal.

Dylan Cole supplied seven saves for Mt. Juliet.
