CLARKSVILLE — Lebanon senior Heather Allmond finished second in the Region 5-AAA singles tennis tournament Monday at Austin Peay State University.

She lost to three-time region champion Sarah Hall of Hendersonville 6-4, 6-3, leaving Allmond with a final season record of 18-5, the most wins in a season by a female in the 40-year history of LHS tennis.

“Heather played very well in the final considering tournament officials only gave her a one-hour break between the semifinal and final,” Lebanon coach Cory Walker said. “After a three-set match in the 90-degree heat she could have used a longer break

“Sarah Hall is a tough competitor and a good player. They had a great match. I’m very proud of Heather and all that she has accomplished.”

Allmond, who plans to sign with Cumberland next week, defeated District 10-AAA champion Megan Jennings of Springfield 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinal.
