FCS pair named to coaches all-state team

Friendship Christian center-fielder Kelsi Dickey, above, and pitcher/first baseman Tana Whited have been named to the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association’s Division II All-State team. Dickey, a finalist for the D-II Miss Softball award which will be announced next Monday, batted .388 with five homers and 43 runs batted in. Whited hit .349 with four homers and 42 RBI while striking out 65 in 90 2/3 innings pitched.

Also honored by the TSCA is Mt. Juliet junior pitcher Savannah Sanders, who made the Class AAA team after the District 9-AAA Most Valuable Player went 24-4 with a 0.88 earned-run average, 249 strikeouts and 27 walks in 151 innings.
