COOPERTOWN – The Lebanon American 12-under Dixie Youth majors all-stars jumped out to an early lead on Pleasant View and captured a 19-3 victory Friday night in the opening round of district play.
Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Lebanon to put the game away early.
An RBI double by Braden Reese and an RBI single by Carson Boles during the first inning and an RBI double by Brady Chappell, a passed ball and three errors in the second fueled Lebanon’s offense early.
Chappell reached base two times in the game for the Americans. He scored three runs and had one RBI.
Pleasant View managed just three hits off of Reese, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during three innings of work.
The Americans pounded Pleasant View pitching, as seven hitters combined for six hits, six RBIs and 16 runs scored.
The Amerians next face host-team Coopertown, which had a bye in the opening round, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
