Martin wins area tourney

Several other local youth golfers finish at top of the pack

CLARKSVILLE – Brant Martin, of Watertown, fired a 9-over 38-42—80 to win the Tennessee Golf Association Junior Tour tournament in the boys 16-18 tour age group Wednesday at Swan Lake Golf Course. 

J.C. McDearman, of Lebanon, shot a 14-over 38-47—85 to finish third in the age group. C.J. Greenfield, of Old Hickory finished eighth with a 20-over 44-47—91. Phillip Austin Martin, of Old Hickory, finished tied for 12th with a 37-over 54-54—108. 

Madeline Buckley, of Lebanon, finished fifth in the girls 12-18 tour age group with a 33-over 54-54—105. 

Young golfers compete in tourney

ROCKVALE – Anna Leigh Cleveland, of Lebanon, finished sixth in the girls 12-18 tour age group after posting a 20-over 47-45—92 in a tournament Wednesday at Champions Run Golf Course. 

Drew Porth, of Lebanon, finished 12th with a 24-over 48-48—96 in the boys 16-18 tour age group. 

Ethan Mabry, of Lebanon, shot at 21-over 52-41—93, which was good enough for 14th in the boys 13-15 tour age group. 

Cleveland third at Indian Hills

MURFREESBORO – Cleveland finished tied for third in the girls 12-18 tour age group at a tournament Tuesday at Indian Hills Golf Club. 

Kristen Fredericks, of Lebanon, shot a 32-over 49-55—104 to finish tied for fifth in the group. 

Andrew Lena, of Mt. Juliet, wound up 14th in the boys 13-15 age group after posting a 23-over 47-48—95.
