Wilson Central’s Kyle Hubbuch has been named to the Class AAA all-state baseball team and Watertown’s Dusty Meador to the Class A team by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.
In addition, Watertown’s Seth Price was named All-Two-Way Player for all classifications by Tennessee Baseball Report.
Hubbuch, who graduated in May and will play for North Alabama next spring, batted .431 with eight home runs and 43 RBI for Central this past spring, playing mostly first base.
With Vanderbilt-commitment A.J. Franklin shut down by an injury, Hubbuch became the ace of the pitching staff down the stretch and finished 5-5 with two saves, a 3.02 earned-run average, 20 walks and 50 strikeouts in 14 appearances, including 12 starts and three complete games, covering 60 1/3 innings.
Meador, a junior first baseman-outfielder, batted .520 [sixth in the state in all classes] with two home runs, 36 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 13 tries in 33 games. He has college offers from Division I schools down to NAIA.
Price, a freshman shortstop-pitcher, batted .413 with 24 RBI and 17 steals in 18 tries in 29 games. On the mound, he went 5-4 with two shutouts, a 3.33 ERA, 38 strikeouts and 14 walks in 42 innings. He’s currently playing summer ball with Demarini Black 15U out of Atlanta.
