GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central rebounded from a first-game loss to outlast visiting Lebanon 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 15-8 Thursday.

Jordan Fitzgerald led the Lady Wildcats with 35 assists, six digs, two kills, an ace and a block while Taylor Tucker finished with five kills, four aces, three digs, two assists and two blocks; Megan Belcher seven kills, four digs, three assists and an ace; Delaney McCorkle 22 kills, eight digs and a block; Averi Usher 13 kills and 11 digs, Kendal Tomlin 12 digs and two aces, Sara Wright a kill and a dig, Ashlyn Guethlein four aces and Shelby Coombes four kills as Central improved to 5-6 for the season and pulled even at 1-1 in District 9-AAA.

Briana Clemmons collected eight kills, four digs, three blocks and two aces for the Lady Devils while Zia Hamilton had 14 assists and two digs, Nicole Painter nine kills and seven blocks, Erin Arnold six kills and two aces and Megan Brown 13 digs.

Lebanon will play host to Mt. Juliet on Tuesday with the freshmen serving off at 4 p.m., the junior varsity at 5 and the varsity at 6.Central will play three matches next week – at home against Gallatin on Tuesday and LaVergne on Wednesday and at Mt. Juliet next Thursday. Lebanon will play host to Mt. Juliet on Tuesday.

Friendship sweeps Ezell-Harding in district opener

Friendship Christian swept visiting Ezell-Harding 25-20, 25-17, 25-20 in East-Middle District 1-A action Thursday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

Tana Whited totaled 12 assists, eight digs and five kills for Friendship while Libby Nave notched nine digs, two aces and a kill; Autumn Josey six kills, five digs and four aces; Madeline Holton five kills and two blocks, Savannah Robinson five kills and an ace and Alycia Long four blocks as the Lady Commanders won their district opener and climbed to 5-1 for the season.

Friendship will play host to Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Bell leads Lady Bears past Portland

PORTLAND — Mt. Juliet prevailed over Portland 25-23, 16-25, 25-18, 25-20 in District 9-AAA action Tuesday.

Sophomore Tavie Bell led the Lady Bears with 12 digs, 11 kills, five aces and four blocks while SaraGrace Wilson set up 14 assists as Mt. Juliet moved to 7-3 for the season and 2-0 in the district.

Mt. Juliet will visit Lebanon at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
