Lady Bears beat Central in four

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet overcame a first-game loss to overwhelm Wilson Central 24-26, 25-20, 25-4, 25-19 Thursday.

SaraGrace Wilson led the Lady Bears with 22 assists and 11 kills while Tavie Bell totaled 10 kills and four aces, Cassidy Harris six blocks and Samantha Khoury four aces as Mt. Juliet moved to 8-4 for the season and 3-1 in District 9-AAA.

Taylor Tucker turned in six kills, two digs, two aces and a block for the Lady Wildcats while Megan Belcher finished with three digs, three assists, two aces and a kill; Jordan Fitzgerald 23 assists, nine digs and an ace; Shelby Coombes seven kills, two digs and two blocks; Averi Usher 12 digs and four kills, Delaney McCorkle seven kills and six digs, Ashlyn Guethlein two aces and a dig, Kendal Tomlin 11 digs and Sara Wright a kill as Central slipped to 7-8 for the season and 2-2 in the district.

Mt. Juliet also won the junior-varsity match 25-1, 25-11.

The Lady Bears will travel to the Beech Tournament today. They will face Lipscom Academy at 3:390 p.m., White House-Heritage at 4:30 and Brooks at 7:30.

Central will face Hendersonville, Portland and Beech next week.

MJCA turns back South Haven

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian turned back visiting South Haven 25-16, 25-13, 18-25, 25-9 Thursday night.

Lauren Wankel led the Lady Saints with 17 kills while Meredith Orr finished with 14 assists, April Bennett 12 digs and Morgan Adcock three aces as Mt. Juliet Christian climbed to 5-1.

MJCA will play host to Lighthouse Christian at 5 p.m. Monday.
