Zone Conditioning offers half-marathon training

If New Year’s goals include getting in shape, taking fitness to the next level or tackling the Country Music Half Marathon, Zone Conditioning has group training sessions to help.

Two new sessions launch Jan. 11 as part of Zone Conditioning’s grand-opening celebration:

• Half-marathon training is designed to ready runners and walkers before the April 26 Country Music Marathon in Nashville. The training includes a coached run/walk each Saturday and a detailed training program for participants to follow during the week. The program runs Jan. 11 though April 20; Country Music Half Marathon fees are not included.

• A race-day challenge includes seven-week Spinning challenge, where participants commit to at least three strength and endurance-building sessions on Spinning bikes each week from Jan. 11 through March 1. That culminates in a race day March 1. The cost to participate in the seven-week challenge is $25, plus the cost of Spinning classes. Those participating in the challenge can choose from Spinning, Beginner Spinning and a combination yoga/Spinning class.

“Scientific studies have shown that those who want to start or enhance their fitness routines are more likely to succeed if they have accountability,” said Jen Mulford, Zone Conditioning’s co-owner. “These two group training programs both have built-in accountability, as well as a specific goals in mind, whether that means completing the half marathon or the race day challenge.”

Zone Conditioning is a boutique wellness and fitness studio, located in the Hays Business Park across from the Mt. Juliet Public Library. Services include individual and small group training, classes, health coaching, sports massage and nutritional counseling. In addition to being the only official Spinning facility in Wilson County, Zone Conditioning allows participants to purchase individual classes or monthly packages. There is no monthly membership fee or contract required.
