Although United Way of Wilson County officials are working to gain new fundraising campaigns with local companies, many other companies are turning in their final results from the last campaign.

Wilson Bank & Trust and its’ employees just announced its final figure of $10,000 for the most current campaign.

“This year we focused on participation, knowing that the support of all of us is greater than one of us,” said executive vice president and last year’s United Way campaign chair John McDearman. “Our employees always accept a challenge to help others. It is what we do.”

“Wilson Bank and Trust employees do so much for the community, so we’re extremely happy that they help our local United Way and this year they actually doubled their campaign from the previous year,” said United Way of Wilson County President John McMillin.

“We feel blessed as a company and individuals to live and work in a county that supports organizations that help those who can’t help themselves…and that is United Way,” McDearman said.

As for the newest campaign year, McDearman said, “I would also like to challenge other organizations to do the same…everybody give something. Together we can change lives by giving our time, talents, time and yes, money.”
