The Tennessee Healthy Watershed Initiative will have a dedication of its latest project at the Ward Agricultural Center on the Wilson County Fairgrounds.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m.
THWI aims to maintain and improve water resources across the state by bringing together the public, landowners, resource management agencies and conservation-focused organizations.
The new project in Wilson County features a new permeable parking lot, rain gardens, wetlands and other unique stormwater elements that are currently under way.
THWI is the result of a partnership between the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the Tennessee Chapter of The Nature Conservancy and the West Tennessee River Basin Authority.
The goal is to promote communication, collaboratio and thoughtful water resources planning among a broad partnership of agencies and stakeholders.
