August 20, 2008 – Tuesday night saw winners everywhere with the truck giveaway to attendance numbers that continue to climb.

Dwight Saddler of Auburntown was the winning ticket holder.

"He was holding the third ticket to be called," said Wilson County Promotion Treasurer Randall Clemmons. "He only had 65 tickets with him."

Saddler's ticket came from Wilson Bank & Trust and he chose the 2008 Dodge truck.

Tuesday's attendance numbers reached 25,246 beating 2007's by 1,853 people.

Reaching the halfway mark for the Fair, total attendance numbers climbed to 232,037 visitors, up more than 5,716 in 2004.

"We have had great crowds these past nights, with lots for visitors to do," said Clemmons. "We are expecting a great night [Wednesday] with our first major concert in the covered arena."

Tracy Lawrence will be performing at 8 p.m. in the new covered livestock pavilion. The concert is free to all Fair visitors.

Wednesday is also Merchant's and Lottery Night. Visitors bringing in a coupon from a business will receive $2 off rides, and those that bring in a lottery ticket will receive $1 off admission into the Fair.
