Youth fishing: The TWRA has scheduled a number of youth fishing events around the state this spring.

The 2013 Free Fishing Day is June 8. Anyone in the state can fish free in public waters without a license. Several of the special youth-fishing events are planned around the date.
Hunter input invited: The TWRA invites hunters to submit comments and recommendations for the 2013-14 hunting seasons.

Include “Hunting Season Comments” on the subject line of e-mailed submissions.
Comments and suggestions will be considered when the TWRA and the Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission sets this fall’s hunting and trapping regulations.
The comment period runs through May 27.
Trap shoot: Mac McCaleb won last week’s trap shoot at the Cedar City Gun Club with a near-perfect round of 49.
Dan Smith won a shootoff to take Class B (39), Howard Lamb on the Veteran category (35) and Taylor Bolin was high Junior (45.)
Tanner Muller won a Class B carryover from last week.
The Cedar City Straights scholastic shooting team competed in a match at Manchester last week. Coach Ben Schade said the local team shot well, but did not place.
The Gun Club hosted an ATA Registered Shoot that was won by Crossville’s Shane Qualls with a perfect 50. Danny Shaw won the Open completion (49), Alex Hart Sub-Jr. (43), Hunter Satterfield Pre Sub-Jr. (44), Billy Robb Veteran (37), Kerry Hale Class A (45), Tanner Muller Class B (43) and Tommy Hart Class C (39).
