While Lebanon Youth Baseball League teams play their way through Dixie Youth and Little League all-star tournaments, the Continental Amateur Baseball Association will make its annual stop in the Cedar City.

The CABA 14-under World Series begins its ninth tournament in Lebanon starting Saturday. Sixteen teams will arrive here today, city parks director William Porter said Thursday night.

A handful of the teams are from Tennessee, though only the Tennessee Elite, coached by Wilson Central coach Anthony Ford, are local.

The teams will be welcomed to town by a banquet tonight at the Jimmy Floyd Center before games begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central, Friendship Christian and Cumberland's Woody Hunt Stadium. Veterans Field will be the site of three games beginning at 1 p.m.

Each team will play six games through Tuesday before the top finishers advance to elimination play.

The teams will get a break from games Monday night by a home run derby at Veterans Field, followed by a fireworks show.
