The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Wilson County on Tuesday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Forecasters said an arctic cold front is expected to move rapidly across Middle Tennessee on Tuesday morning, which will bring strong winds throughout the day.

As a strong Canadian-based high pressure system builds in behind, forecasters said a strong surface pressure gradient will develop, and wind speeds will increase around dawn into the 15 mph-30 mph range, gusting 35 mph and up to 45 mph at times, mainly during the morning hours. The elevated wind speeds will begin to decrease in the afternoon.

Gusty winds could create difficult driving conditions, and loose outdoor items could be blown around as well.

A wind advisory means winds between 25 mph-39 mph and gusts between 35 mph-57 mph are expected.
