The National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch Wednesday afternoon for Wilson County.

The watch will go into effect Thursday afternoon and represents an elevated fire danger across Middle Tennessee. Forecasters said a warming trend will begin Thursday as strong winds between 10 mph-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph from the south will bring high temperatures up into the 30s and 40s with relative humidity levels falling into the 10 percent-20 percent range in the afternoon. Those conditions, along with recent cold and dry conditions will become favorable for any fires that develop to grow and spread rapidly.

Forecasters said outdoor burining is not recommeded Thursday afternoon.
