The NWS issued a tornado watch for Wilson County until Friday at 3 a.m.
The watch includes most of Middle Tennessee, as well. A wind advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. for Wilson County.
Forecasters said a strong-surface low-pressure center is moving east toward Middle Tennessee with a trailing cold front.
Sustained wind speeds of 20 mph-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are possible through the evening hours, forecasters said.
