Two lines of heavy thunderstorms have the potential to impact Wilson County early Friday morning, according to Steve Spencer with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.

Spencer said the first line is expected to reach Wilson County between 3-6 a.m. and could include straight-line winds, hail, heavy rain and possibly a spin-up tornado.

The second front, expected later Friday morning, would be ahead of a cold front that, mixed with daytime heating, could ignite dangerous weather conditions.

Spencer said the highest threat of a significant weather event from the second line of thunderstorms would likely be east of Wilson County, but the potential exists locally for tornadoes.
