The Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce candidate forum series will continue next week in Mt. Juliet and in two weeks in Lebanon.
The event will be Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at West Wilson Middle School.
The forum will consist of candidates running for the District 17 state Senate seat, District 57 state House seat, Wilson County Commission Districts 1, 2, 3, 8, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18 and 22 and Wilson County Board of Education, Zone 4.
The third and final forum will be held July 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Winfree Bryant Middle School. This forum will consist of candidates running for the District 46 state House seat, Wilson County Commission Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24 and 25, Wilson County Board of Education, Zone 2 and Zone 5 and Lebanon Special School District Board of Education.
The intent of the forums is to permit candidates an opportunity to share their ideas and qualifications for serving in these important government roles. Chris Crowell, former chamber board chairman and vice president of Liberty State Bank, will moderate the forums.
“This is an excellent opportunity for voters to become acquainted with candidates seeking office,” said John Bryan, chairman of the chamber board and vice president of CedarStone Bank. “As a result, we feel that we are helping citizens make informed decisions when they head to the polls.”
All forums are free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
