The Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce held its final candidate forum at Winfree Bryant Middle School on Tuesday before early voting begins Friday in the Aug. 7 election.
Candidates vying for a number of county commission seats, as well as school board zones, and the candidates for the Republican and Democrat primaries in House District 46 spoke to voters.
Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto thanked the attendees for “your willingness to put yourself out there” and run for public office.
Chris Crowell, who serves on the chamber’s Government Relations Committee, said, “It takes courage to be a candidate and to put yourself out there.”
Each of the candidates present was given three minutes to express to voters what the important issues were to them and some background about themselves. Crowell also reminded those in attendance early voting begins Friday and runs through Aug. 2.
“We encourage everyone to go out and vote,” Crowell said.
