Every Woman’s Expo, a local event for women, by women, is set to take place Sept. 28 from 2-6 p.m.
The event will be at the Mt. Juliet Community Center in Charlie Daniels Park, and admission is $5.
The event’s presenting sponsor will be First Freedom Bank and will benefit Relay For Life, which is associated with the American Cancer Society.
The Democrat’s marketing director Charity Toombs said the event would be an opportunity for women in the community to learn, shop and indulge.
“It’s meant to be a day where women can take time for themselves, indulge themselves and engross themselves in Wilson County,” Toombs said. “I want people to be able to immerse themselves in the local businesses.”
Toombs said the event isn’t just about shopping, but it is meant to be fun and also informational, with guest speakers, such as Hale Moss and Ann Haney.
“Hale Moss from Moss Florist is going to be decorating the whole event and giving a seminar on home décor, and Ann Haney will be speaking about living a frugal lifestyle,” Toombs said.
Toombs also said numerous vendors ranging in topics and businesses from beauty to spa to fashion and home décor would also be there.
Toombs said vendors like Wild Strand Salon will be there to give blowouts and do makeup contouring. It’s an example of what the women can actually get – a feel for each business.
“This is to give an opportunity for women to actually experience what vendors are offering whether it be facials or eyelashes or massages,” Toombs said. “This is going to be a very proactive event where you can see, touch and taste everything there.”
Other vendors include Kelli Kakes, Bella Wigs, Origami Owl, Locks and Lashes, Stella & Dot and numerous other boutiques and specialty jewelry lines in the area, as well as other businesses.
“Overall this is a good way for women to support other women, and it’s for a good cause,” Toombs said.
