The small Possumtown community is set to hold its annual Christmas parade, which will take place Sunday at 1 p.m., where it will begin and end at Friendship Christian School.
“We have one basic rule: if you can drive it, pull it or push it, you can be in the Possumtown Christmas parade,” Jerry McFarland said. “We’ve got everything in our parade: antique tractors, antique cars, trucks, politicians, you name it.”
McFarland said each year the parade seems to get bigger.
“We’ve got more than 200 entries this year riding in the parade,” McFarland said. “We are even going to have an airplane flyover this year.”
McFarland said the parade should last about two hours, and chili will be served in the barn when the parade is over for any and everyone to come and enjoy.
“It’s just a big parade down in the country, and I just hope everyone can come out and enjoy it,” McFarland said.
