A benefit concert is planned for a West Wilson Middle School teacher diagnosed with stage-four liver and colon cancer.

The concert will be Saturday in the school gym on Mt. Juliet Road in honor of Amanda Ray, 34, wife and mother of two small children. Ray is a Mt. Juliet resident who taught at Stoner Creek Elementary School prior to transferring to West Wilson Middle School.

The concert will feature three bands and two duos. In addition, there will be dancing, door prizes, a silent auction, finger painting for children and food.

A fish bowl will be available to collect donations.

Admission will be $10 for adults, $5 for students and younger children will be admitted free. The West Wilson Middle School parent-teacher organization is sponsoring the event.
