Wilson Emergency Management Agency firefighters battled a garage fire Thursday afternoon on Lebanon Road.

Firefighters responded to 9077 Lebanon Road at about 2 p.m. after a woman called 911 to report smoke coming from a building.

WEMA Director Joey Cooper said firefighters saw flames coming from a metal garage-style building and started putting out the fire.

Cooper said the garage contained boats, vehicles and a section for living quarters. He said the fire was in the living portion of the building.

Cooper said firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within about 30 minutes. He said about a quarter of the living portion suffered fire damage, and smoke damage was found throughout, though it was minor.

Firefighters remained on the scene for a few hours to contain any hot spots.

Cooper said the cause of the fire was not known and the owners were unable to be found.

No injuries were reported. Wilson County deputies and WEMA paramedics assisted with the incident.

The fire near Beckwith Road between Lebanon and Mt. Juliet caused some traffic delays Thursday afternoon.
