Community members enjoyed Blue Moon barbecue, Baskin Robbins ice cream, live music from Regina King and a live auction Saturday at Empower Me Day Camp’s 10th and final Summer Swinefest.
“It’s been a great 10-year run for us,” said camp director Michelle Hill. “We’re just thankful for the community support over the years.”
The decision to make this year’s Swinefest the final one came on the heels of the success of Jere’s Ride, which also raises funds for Empower Me Day Camp.
“[Jere’s Ride] was so successful in its inaugural year, we decided to focus on one fundraiser and continue to make that one bigger and better,” said Hill.
The event was held at College Hills Church of Christ, with proceeds benefitting Empower Me Day Camp.
