Blackman shuts out Lebanon

Blackman shut-out Lebanon 5-0 in the first game of a two-day home-and-home series for the district rivals. Brad Barnes pitched a complete game three-hitter for the visiting Blaze, spraying singles from Devils Drew Brockette, Dexter Cross and Gabe Thompson. Brent Morris took the loss for LHS (2-4, 0-1 District 11-AAA), who travel to Blackman tomorrow.
Bears whitewash White House
Mt. Juliet (7-0) stayed undefeated with a 14-2 run-rule win against White House (4-3). Dustin Murphy got his second win of the season with three innings of work, while B.J. Boston pitched well in two innings of relief. The bats were firing for the Bears, as well. Jeff Murphy and Taylor Hill each had a homerun and four RBIs. Tyler Carr added two triples and two RBIs and Caleb Knox had three RBIs on two hits. The Bears travel to Chattanooga for the Scenic City Classic this weekend.

Saints snuff-out Lighthouse Christian
MJCA (2-1) earned a five-inning, 16-4 run-rule victory over Lighthouse (0-5). Jonathan Roberts (1-0) pitched all five innings, giving up three earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts. He helped his own cause on the offensive side, going 1-1 with three walks and 3 stolen bases. Daniel Shedd had 3 RBIs and Cody Sullivan added 2 for the Saints. In his first start, freshman Rahul Van Mali went hit a two-run single. The Saints play at Trousdale County Thursday at 4 p.m.
