Central girls defeat Lady Commandos
Leevie Greenwood pitched a complete game for the Wildcats (5-3, 2-0 District 9-AAA) with three strikeouts against six hits and two walks, taking the Wildcats to a 2-0 district win over Hendersonville (11-3, 2-1 District 9-AAA). The game was scoreless into the sixth inning, when a Jessica Faircloth single drove in Kristin Clark, who had reached on a double. WCHS padded their lead in the seventh as Courtney Billington's single drove in Savannah Clark, who reached on an error.
Devilettes run-rule Cookeville
Big bats and a near-perfect pitching performance pushed Lebanon (6-3, 2-0 District 7-AAA) to a 12-1 pounding of Cookeville. Meghan Maynard carried a perfect game into the fifth inning, before hitting a batter, who then scored on a follow-up single. Maynard helped her own cause with the bat, adding two RBIs. Also on the offensive side, Kelsey Blackburn and Missy Roberts each had two-run homers. Roberts finished the day with 4 RBIs, Blackburn with 3, with Lacey Doak adding a pair. LHS travels to Murfreesboro this weekend for the Middle Tennessee Christian Academy tournament.
Yellow Jackets sting Purple Tigers
Sarah Patchen led the way in a 5-4 loss for Watertown, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored. Laura Clark drove in two runs, with Kelli Johnson and Sarah Page each adding an RBI.
