Clemmons claims 2nd in Great 8 Invitational
NASHVILLE — Chris Clemmons had Lebanon's top performance Thursday in the Great 8 Invitational at Vanderbilt.
He placed second in the 100 meters in :11.28.
Icelyn Elie was third in the girls' long jump with a leap of 16-4. She also finished sixth in the high jump at 4-10.
Alex Johnson went 40 feet to finish third in the triple jump, just ahead of Quin Marable's fourth-place finish of 39-8. Lee Olden claimed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 38-8 1/2. Johnson tied for seventh in the high jump at 5-6.
Jenna Forrest finished third in the 100-meter low hurdles in :16.01.
Matthew Maynard was fourth in the 300 low hurdles in :42.76 and eighth in the 110 high hurdles in :17.72. Michael Hollingsworth was sixth in the 110 high hurdles in :16.2. Jacob Maynard, Matthew's twin brother, was sixth in the 300 low hurdles in :43.6.
Ken Walton finished fifth in the 200 meters in :22.97.
Casey Nunley cleared 5-10 in the high jump, tying for fifth place.
Lebanon's next meet will be the District 7-AAA championships in Murfreesboro. The pole vault will be held Monday at Riverdale. Running and other field events will be Tuesday at Oakland.
