County girl squads win big over weekend

MURFREESBORO - Lebanon's Devilettes scored a 60-39 victory over Clarksville in the Oakland Classic Saturday.
Lebanon controlled the game early and maintained the momentum throughout. The Devilettes headed into the locker room at the half with a commanding 39-13 lead.
"We did a good job of taking them out of what they wanted to do," Lebanon coach Darian Brown said.
A prolific offense dominated the third quarter and gave Lebanon the lead 60-20 going into the final period of play.
"We got a lead early and kept it, so everybody got to play," Brown said. Many of his younger players saw action in the fourth quarter.
For the Devilettes, Crystal Howse and Icelyn Elie led the way with 12 points. London Elie and Acquarius Huddleston each tossed in nine, Jasmine Brooks eight, Chassity Herrod four and Kelsey Blackburn and Ebony Marshall three apiece.
The Devilettes travel to Wilson Central Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats of Wilson Central defeated Bradley Central 62-53 in tournament play Sunday. The win moved the Lady Wildcats to 4-0 for the season.
The first quarter saw Wilson Central take the lead 19-9 behind four 3-pointers from Lauren Farmer and Lauren Wasson.
"The three-pointers all came in the last two minutes of the first quarter," Lady Wildcat coach Bud Brandon said.
Halftime saw Bradley Central pull within five, 32-27, as the Lady Wildcats got into a little foul trouble.
"Both (Sarah) Williams and (Tierney) Jenkins were on the bench," Brandon added.
The gap widened in the second half and the third period ended with Wilson Central leading 46-39.
Jasmine Hassell had 19 points to lead the Lady Wildcats. Jenkins tossed in 18, Wasson fired in seven, Farmer six, Chelsea Burroughs five, Kristyn Clark three and Williams and Jessyca Christopher both had two.
The Wildcats scored a 61-55 victory over Austin East Saturday. Wilson Central led for the duration and were ahead 36-27 at halftime.
Austin East's Lakrystal Guss led all scorers with 21 points.
For Central, Hassell had 18 points, Jenkins 15, Williams 12, Farmer added six, and Burroughs and Christopher five each.
The Lady Wildcats host Lebanon Tuesday.

Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears defeated McGavock 83-38 in the final of the Leroy Wright Thanksgiving tournament at Hunters Lane Saturday.
The Lady Bears came out running on all cylinders to pull ahead 20-10 at the end of the first.
"This was our best game of the season," Mt. Juliet coach Chris Fryer said. "We spread the ball around a lot."
At the half, the Lady Bears were up 38-19 and by the close of the third the margin increased to 65-33.
"We had a big third qurater," Fryer noted.
K.C. Vanatta led all scorers with 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Jordan Nixon was just behind with 18, Heather Miller tossed in 15, Taylor Hall put in nine, Macie Gleaves eight, Miaca Bowman and Rebecca Sharpe each had four and Megan Read three.
