CU rises in rankings
Both Cumberland tennis teams moved up in the latest NAIA ratings released earlier this week.
Cumberland's women climbed six spots to No. 16 while the Bulldogs leaped from No. 21 to 10.
"I am very proud of how all of our players on both teams have worked extremely hard to pull together and fight everytime we take the court," Cumberland coach Bill Riddle said. "Now we have to stay healthy and find a way to get a little stronger mentally as that has been our weakness so far."
Cumberland is coming off a pair of 5-4 losses to Lee on Monday. The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs will embark on an East Tennessee road trip Saturday when they face Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens in the morning and Maryville in Knoxville that night.
CU will host 14 teams from around the country next week at its Spring Fling Tournament beginning Thursday.
