Dewaal breaks her LHS record in pole vault

MURFREESBORO — Emile Dewaal set broke her Lebanon record in the pole vault Monday when she cleared eight feet to win the District 7-AAA meet at Riverdale.
Her old mark was 7-6. Teammate Lauren Jordan finished third as the Devilettes won with 16 points. Riverdale was second with eight.
Riverdale leads the boys' competition after one event with 24 points while Lebanon has eight.
Branson Hammrich finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet. Sean McKinnis' eight-foot clearance was good for fifth.
District competition resumes today at Oakland. The other field events and the 3,200-meter run will begin at 11 a.m. with the other running events to follow.
