FCS' Mitchell named to TFCA All-State team

Friendship Christian linebacker Wade Mitchell has been named to the Class 1A All-State team by the Tennessee Football Coaches Association.
Mitchell, a 5-10, 205-pound senior, led the Commander defense with 149 tackles with two sacks and an interception as Friendship won its first 14 games before losing in the BlueCross Bowl to Jackson Christian.
As a punter, he averaged 32.8 yards on 40 kicks.
